Client Story

Innovating Eco-Friendly Materials

Our collaboration with Ucon Acrobatics focused on creating sustainable materials that meet their minimalist design ethos and commitment to environmental responsibility. Over the course of two years, we co-developed the groundbreaking PUrTEX∞ material, which boasts a higher recycling rate and significantly reduced production energy consumption compared to standard PU. Additionally, we introduced Textile Recycling Yarn, a fabric entirely sourced from discarded textiles within the clothing and bag industries—unlike the common use of recycled plastic bottles. These innovative materials have become core elements in Ucon’s signature collections.

Rapid and Collaborative Product Development

Ucon Acrobatics’ design team, led by one of the brand’s founders, visits our factory annually to personally oversee the development of their new products. This hands-on approach has drastically shortened the development process, with multiple rounds of sampling completed in just days. Our sample room, staffed with experts boasting over 30 years of pattern-making and sewing experience, works side-by-side with Ucon’s team to refine product concepts on the spot. Whether it’s addressing minor adjustments within hours or resolving complex structural changes within days, we ensure every design meets the brand’s vision without delay.

A Partnership of Growth and Sustainability

Our relationship with Ucon Acrobatics goes beyond business. Founder Martin’s innovative ideas have driven us to explore new industry solutions, such as his early push to recycle textile waste from the fashion and soft goods sectors—an effort that culminated in our 2024 launch of the Infinity series, using 100% textile waste. Martin frequently visits our factory, offering valuable feedback on our production processes, while also participating in daily operations, including simple lunches and discussions about product improvements. His down-to-earth nature has fostered a friendship that fuels mutual growth.

What’s the Next?

As we venture deeper into sustainable innovation, our partnership with Ucon Acrobatics is set to evolve further. We’re eager to continue exploring new eco-friendly materials and processes that align with their minimalist, environmentally conscious ethos.

“Gaofeng has a strong expertise in product design and development, with very good pattern maker and sampling team. Organisation of material partners which are more special and more sustainable.”
